Identification and toxicity of an unknown fruit

Professor Monique Simmonds, from Kew's Jodrell Laboratory, receives an unknown fruit from a commercial company. Using chemical analysis and comparison with reference specimens in Kew's Herbarium and Economic Botany Collections she finds out what it is, and also uncovers a very good reason why they would be unwise to use it!
