Plants in conservation: the man orchid
Professor Mike Fay, head of the Genetics section at the Jodrell Laboratory at Kew, shares one of his main interest areas – the application of genetic data to questions relating to conservation.
Mike and his team use genetic fingerprinting techniques similar to those used in criminal forensics to tell us more about different populations of the endangered man orchid native to England, other parts of Europe and North Africa.
