The Nash Conservatory is the oldest of the 19th Century glasshouses at Kew and is of major historical and architectural importance.  It was originally one of two pavilions designed by John Nash for the gardens at Buckingham Palace, but King William IV moved the current conservatory brick by brick to Kew in 1836. 

Of a classical stone ‘Greek temple’ design, the building was adapted by Sir Jeffrey Wyatville, the designer of King William’s Temple.  The Nash Conservatory first housed Araucaria and Eucalyptus; then in 1854 it was used for Australian flora.  In 1861, the conservatory was used for South East Asian Araceae and during the Palm House restoration in the early 1980s, the Nash Conservatory temporarily housed large palms.

This beautiful conservatory now provides a unique and versatile event space for both daytime and evening corporate events.

The Nash Conservatory and Orangery may be hired together for a wedding ceremony and reception for up to 200 guests.

The Richmond Registry Office provides the registrars for your ceremony at Kew and must be booked directly by clients.

Please contact the Richmond Registry Office on 020 8940 2853 to enquire about the legal necessities required and registrar fees for a civil ceremony or civil partnership to take place at Kew. Please also call this number to provisionally book a registrar if you are holding a date for the Nash Conservatory and Orangery.

Please be aware that Nash Conservatory and Orangery are only available for exclusive hire and the Nash Conservatory is not available at a discounted ceremony only fee.
