Support Kew from the USA
Kew works globally to reduce the extent and impact of climate change, to rescue species and habitats from destruction. The American Society for the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew enables American citizens to support our work.
Plant science is the key to understanding all life on our planet and Kew holds the world’s greatest concentration of knowledge about plants. Kew works globally to reduce the extent and impact of climate change, to rescue species and habitats from destruction, and we urgently need your help.
Behind the scenes of their beautiful botanic gardens, Kew undertakes a huge range of innovative science and conservation work. Over the past 250 years, Kew has developed as a global hub for botanic research and collections. The Herbarium is the centre of an information network that brings together botanists and mycologists from around the world, and houses over seven million specimens.
Kew’s Millennium Seed Bank Project is world’s largest global conservation project. By 2010, seeds from 10% of the world’s plant species were banked, including the rarest, most threatened and most useful species known. The second phase of this project focuses on combating threats to human wellbeing by safeguarding wild plant diversity and enabling its sustainable use.
