Role
Seed cleaning, x-raying, banking, germination testing, harvesting of regeneration material.
Initial receipt and assessment of incoming collections, followed by the cleaning, x-raying, counting, banking and germination testing of the received collections. Cleaning undertaken by volunteers is organized and supervized. If necessary, regeneration and harvesting of relevant collections is performed. Entering germination test results on to Seed Bank Database and monthly stock check of Curation consumables. Entering batch data for incoming collections from which monthly statistics are extracted. In addition, research into dormancy issues in the families Curcubitaceae, Convolulaceae, Loasaceae is carried out.
