Role

Myrtaceae of Latin American Drylands

Curation of Kew’s herbarium collections of Myrtales (families 67-70), maintenance of the collection through laying away new material, reorganisation of taxa according to new revisions, preparation of specimens for mounting. Identification of incoming material (under guidance) with particular emphasis on South America. Attendance at family sorts to gain experience in tropical plant family identification. Provision of curatorial and technical support for taxonomic projects within and for visitors to the Myrtaceae section. Databasing and scanning specimens for loan, compilation of lists of new identifications for dispatch to other herbaria or individuals.  Currently assisting in the preparation of a Flora Neotropica account of Gomidesia and writing a key to the genus.
