Role
Molecular systematics and evolution of angiosperms, allopolyploidy in angiosperms, taxonomy of Orchidaceae.
Research focused on using DNA data to improve understanding of angiosperm evolution and classification. A particular focus is on Nicotiana (Solanaceae) and Orchidaceae; co-editing a multi-volume series on all genera of Orchidaceae, ‘Genera Orchidacearum’.
