Taxonomy and systematics of Old World Rubiaceae and Herbarium Techniques.

Taxonomy, systematics and conservation of Old World Rubiaceae, with regional focus on Africa and Madagascar. Taxonomic and systematic research covers monography, global checklisting and tribal and generic delimitation, with a particular focus on Coffea. The draft of Rubiaceae for ‘Flora Zambesiaca’ vol. 5(3) was completed prior to retirement from the Kew staff in spring 2002 and fully edited by the end 2003. Collaborative research on Coffea and other genera continues. Participation in production of the ‘World Checklist and Bibliography of Rubiaceae’. Assisting in the identification of Rubiaceae, particularly specimens from the Old World Tropics.
