Role
Collection-based applied research into aspects of seed germination behaviour and dormancy, for optimising the potential future use of MSBP collections.
Developing new and improved methodologies for overcoming seed-dormancy to facilitate improved monitoring and use of conservation collections. Current projects include screening physical dormancy in MSBP collections, relating embryo development to the acquisition of desiccation tolerance and developing methods to overcome morphological and morph-physiological dormancy. Preparing training materials and delivering formal MSBP training courses and informal training in tackling germination problems with MSBP partners.
