Balbisia elongata Willd., Sp. Pl. 3: 2214 (1803). Type: Habitat in Mexico. 0 (v. v.). Type material: B-W (16366). Note: There are three sheets under this number in B-W. The first sheet is the most complete material and appears to have the following nom. nud. written beneath the specimen. The second has (Balbis) written at the bottom of the sheet, but lacks any capitula, and the third has (Humboldt) written at the bottom.
