Role
Mapping vegetation in Madagascar, ex situ conservation of the dryland flora and taxonomic studies of Aloaceae.
Managing seed collection trips in Madagascar for the Millennium Seed Bank Project, and liaising with the MSBP partner: Silo National des Graines Forestieres. Responsibilities include planning trips, gathering herbarium data, identifying priority target species, seed collecting, identifying herbarium specimens and managing a database and GIS. Coordinating the Madagascar Vegetation Mapping Project in Madagascar; including organising meetings, workshops and field work, liaising with partners, identifying specimens and collecting data in the field and from project partners. Taxonomic studies of the genus Aloe and preparation of a field guide to the Aloaceae of Madagascar.
