Role

Curation of SE Asian and Temperate herbarium collections; tropical botanical identification; Araucariaceae systematic research.

Curation and maintenance of herbarium collections for the Regional teams, duties including preparation for mounting and incorporation of new material; re-curation of material according to published revisions; processing of loans to and from the Herbarium, databasing as required; dealing with enquiries and visitors to the section; attending sorts and assisting in the identification of new material; developing general plant identification skills. Teaching assistance given on the Tropical Botany Course run as part of the Darwin Initiative in Thailand in October 2005. Research into Araucaria in New Caledonia, involving the study of material in other herbaria e.g. Paris and observations and collections made during an expedition to New Caledonia in November 2005.
