Role
Lichens and non-lichenised pyrenomycetes
Assistance in herbarium curatorial duties (i.e. preparation of loans, laying away and re-disposition of collections within the systematic arrangement of the herbarium). As a trained lichen taxonomist, also deals with routine identifications of lichenised, lichenicolous fungi and other related ascomycetes, mainly pyrenomycetes. In collaboration with other members of the Mycology and Biological Interaction teams, currently working on the taxonomy of a species of the genus Calicium, a floristic account of the lichens in Esher Common SSSI (Surrey, England), and with Hungarian colleagues on the taxonomy of the species referred to the genus Arthopyrenia in Central Europe.
