Information for Presenters

Presentation Length

Invited keynote presentations will be 40 minutes in length with 5 minutes for questions.

Oral presentations will be 15 minutes and 5 minute period between presentations will accommodate questions, discussion, and introduction of the next speaker. The chairperson will be strict about the length of presentations, so please make sure your talk does not exceed the time allocated. Please provide your presentatation at Registration Desk on arrival.

Audiovisual

All presentations should be given in Microsoft Powerpoint. The venue will be equipped with a dedicated projector and a PC laptop.

Preparation

Oral presenters will need to provide their powerpoint files for pre-loading onto the dedicated laptop on the morning of the day of their presentation. This will be coordinated by the member of the organising committee managing the session and instructions will be given at the beginning of each day. Acceptable media are CDs and Flash drives. You will need to ensure that these are compatible with our laptops, which will have CD drives and USB ports and will use Windows 2000 and Powerpoint 2002. Presentations created using MacIntosh computers should be checked PRIOR to the conference, to ensure that all images and formats will be displayed correctly on a PC.

Cancellation

If cancellation is unavoidable, the author should notify sciconf@kew.org as soon as possible.

Poster Dimensions

Poster presentations should be no larger than A0 size (840 mm x 1188 mm).

Poster Display Boards

Pushpins and/or velcro will be supplied, and are the only method of attaching the poster to the board. Poster boards will only cater for portrait, not landscape, format.

Poster Presentation

Posters will be on display for part of the Conference and there will be an informal afternoon session when authors should stand by their posters to answer questions from other delegates.
