Restoring biodiversity and ecosystem services in the Atlantic Forests of Brasil

Brazilian Atlantic Forest
Brazilian Atlantic Forest

The project applies an innovative approach to the development and delivery of practical information for the selection and management of key plant species for restoration of Atlantic forest), its biodiversity and ecosystem services. This is achieved through a process of desk and herbarium-based research, field research and consultation with a range of stakeholders. Data will be integrated and delivered through an interactive web interface. The product will be of benefit to a broad spectrum of land managers and owners in the region, and directly applicable to mining projects in the region. Field-testing of the resource in the context of restoration trials is anticipated but dependent on future developments. The project will develop guidelines and procedures for the wider implementation of this approach.
