Role

Systematics, conservation & sustainable use of bulbous monocots
Research focusing on systematics, conservation & sustainable use of bulbous monocots, in particular the families Amaryllidaceae s.l., Asparagaceae s.l. (Aphyllanthoideae, Brodioideae & Scilloideae), Colchicaceae, Iridaceae, Ixioliriaceae, Liliaceae, Melanthiaceae Tecophilaeaceae and Themidaceae. Current research projects include: systematics and conservation of the Narcissus triandrus complex, morphometric analyses of the Lilium martagon complex and a revision of the Thai Veratrum for the Flora of Thailand series. Outreach activities aimed at UK amateur and professional horticulturalists from a bulbous monocot perspective, with an initial focus on Galanthus. Interest in eTaxonomy, current activities include management and development of the CITES Bulbs Scratchpad [http://citesbulbs.myspecies.info].
