Role
Taxonomy of British and overseas heterobasidioid, corticioid, and clavarioid basidiomycetes, with particular interest in Cameroon and the Caribbean area.
Research focuses on the systematics of heterobasidioid, corticioid, and clavarioid fungi worldwide. In progress are studies on heterobasidioid fungi from the Greater Antilles and Belize (two papers published, two in press) partly through an NSF-funded project to produce basic identification manuals for local scientists; studies on basidiomycetes from Cameroon (four papers published) as part of the Korup Project biodiversity inventory; and a monographic guide to the clavarioid and ramarioid fungi of the British Isles (joint authorship). Research also includes joint studies of heterobasidioid, corticioid, and clavarioid fungi from Australia (Kimberley Region) and the Azores, as well as co-authorship of a checklist of Antarctic fungi (with the British Antarctic Survey).
