Role

Management of the Great Glasshouses Section in support of Kew science, conservation and public education.

Responsibility for the Gardens' collections of tropical plants, both those on public display and the extensive behind-the-scenes holdings in the Lower Nursery and Science Support glasshouses (beside the Jodrell Laboratory). Managing staff responsible for plant acquisition, public display and liaison with Kew's scientists, conservation specialists and public educators. Living collections supporting Kew science and conservation work include key groups, such as orchids, aroids, palms, other Monocots, cacti & succulents, insectivorous and threatened island floras. Also responsible for managing the School of Horticulture and those delivering or organising horticultural training, both academic and practical aspects.
