BSc (Hons) Botany/ Plant Science/ Associate of the Royal College of Science; MSc in Plant Biotechnology; RHS Advanced Certificate in Horticulture (Distinction); Kew Diploma (Hons).
Role
Managing incoming and outgoing plant material, implementation of plant health, CITES and CBD legislation across the gardens, supporting staff in maintaining the health of the Living Collections and management of the Quarantine House, which also serves as a bonded warehouse for UKBA CITES seizures. Development and management of Kew’s new quarantine facility. Technical and scientific support during outbreaks (eg Oak Processionary Moth, chilli thrips). Provision of advice and training both to Kew staff and outside organisations (eg PlantNetwork, Defra, FERA, NCCPG, etc).
