Within Kew’s Millennium Seed Bank Partnership I support the management of Project MGU – the Useful Plants Project (UPP). The project aims to increase the capacity of local communities in Africa and Latin America to conserve, grow and sustainably use plant species that are most useful to their wellbeing. My main responsibilities involve the compilation and management of project information and data, including data cleaning and the design, construction and data migration of a Brahms project database. I also support the production of dissemination and promotional material, including posters, species profiles for the UPP book and project Web pages. I am involved in the preparation of internal and external meetings and I help compile the mid and annual reports for the project donor. Finally, I assist in country project implementation and development activities including community workshops and fieldwork.
