Role

Conservation of the plant diversity of western Cameroon.

Volunteer taxonomist and computer programmer working on the Flora of tropical Africa, particularly the Guineo-Congolian region.  Co-principal investigator for fieldwork, surveys and inventories in Cameroon and Congo (Brazzaville). Development and maintenance of Wet Tropics Africa (Cameroon) specimen database. Identification and publication of new species of Ebenaceae, Annonaceae, Celastraceae, Olacaceae (especially Octoknema). Statistical vegetation analysis. Research interests in electronic floras and identification aides, Octoknema and Hippocrateoids (Celastraceae).
