Research within the pteridophyte herbarium (c. 360,000 specimens, amongst the 10 largest pteridophyte herbaria in the world). Priority given to the naming and arrangement of the taxa of Malesia. Preparation of illustrations of pteridophytes accurately and clearly for publications. Special interest in Thelypteridaceae. Studies of the leptosporangium, towards an illustrated atlas of the sporangia of genera of leptosporangiate ferns.
