Madagascar
Leadership of Kew’s science and conservation programme in Madagascar, helping Kew deliver the Breathing Planet Programme (BPP) and supporting Madagascar with its commitments under the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation and the Millennium Development Goals. Institutional management of the Kew Madagascar Conservation Centre (KMCC), developing its team of botanists and facilities, which include vehicles, computers, satellite communications and accommodation for visiting researchers. Coordinating a portfolio of projects in collaboration with local partners that make a significant contribution to research and conservation in Madagascar and ensure that Kew’s science has maximum impact at all levels from government decision-makers to local communities.

Millennium Seed Bank Partnership Herbarium Team
Management of the MSBP Herbarium Team, helping the MSBP deliver BPP Target 5 and contribute to restoration and sustainable utilisation programmes. The main objectives of the team during the current MSBP programme is to ensure the accurate identification of the seed collections (target: 15% of the world’s flora collected during 2010-2020) and effective data management across the MSBP network based on the use of up to date taxonomic names.
