Role

Co-ordination of and administrative support for International Diploma Courses and their derivatives.

Responsible for Herbarium Techniques programme, including: Structure and Content of Parent (Kew International Diploma) and Regional Courses (overseas derivatives). Maintenance of an acceptable standard and a clear assessment structure. Delivering a major component of the course as the senior tutor. Selection of candidates; management of Finances. Joint Course co-ordinator for the other International Diploma Courses. Assisting in the construction and implementation of timetables, student welfare and some tuition. Develop and run (including tuition) other programmes as required, such as study days for universities and professional groups. Presenting the Introduction to Botany Programme. Introduction courses provided for Kew non science staff, some science staff at the beginning of their appointment, Kew volunteers and the public via the Adult Education programme. General support to the team as required; this includes support for events such as the PhD day, and occasional assistance given to education across the institution. Some assistance also given with data entry for UKOT’s on-line herbarium.
