Role

 

Identifying and developing information projects, to support the goals of the Millennium Seed Bank partnership and to obtain funding for such projects.
 
Involved in the sourcing and collation of botanical information at the specimen and taxon level for use in Millennium Seed Bank Projects, and conducting data analysis.
Currently responsible the prioritisation of all seed collections held by the MSB (determined by their conservation importance) and the prioritisation of seed collections for germination research.
Also provide GIS, modelling and data analysis techniques for prioritising species and habitats for conservation and environmental monitoring, for MSB projects and external work generated by the Kew Innovation Unit.
Previously, developed and managed the MSB Enhancement Project Part 1a, which was responsible for producing Species Collection Guides to help target species for seed collection. Although this project has been completed, I currently manage the legacy databases collated by the MSB Enhancement Project.
