Plant names are the key to finding out information about plants.

International Plant Names Index (IPNI) is a list of published vascular plant scientific names. It is comprehensive but contains no synonymy (links between different names used for the same plant).

The World Checklist of Selected Plant Families provides the currently accepted name, full synonymy, geographical distribution and life form data for 125,000 species in 176 families of seed plant (as of May 2010).
