I manage and lead research on quality seed and seedlings for forestry and restoration, with particular interests in domestication of important woody species useful to rural communities.

My research involves tropical tree seed physiology, seed storage longevity, species propagation and capacity strengthening through research and training from farmer level through to doctorates.

I am the Project Leader of a number of flagship projects including the Africa’s Great Green Wall (GGW) restoration model (2013-2017) and a Darwin Initiative project on the Use and Propagation of native Pesticide Plants in Mali (2014-17).
