Crop Wild Relatives Project Country Programme Officer
MSc Conservation Science, Imperial College London 2011 BA Biological Sciences, University of Oxford 2009
I work on the ‘Adapting Agriculture to Climate Change’ project, otherwise known as the Crop Wild Relative (CWR) project. The project aims to safeguard and use the diversity within the wild species related to 29 crops of major importance to global food security. National project partners receive support of various kinds for collecting these target species from the wild and ensuring their conservation and availability ex situ. My role is to build and develop partnerships with target countries in Asia. I assist our Asian partners to plan and target their collecting effort and ensure that material is shipped to MSB under a Standard Material Transfer Agreement (SMTA) in accordance with the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture.
