Sarah’s role is to support the 'Adapting Agriculture to Climate Change' project with their public facing communication needs. With a background in plant taxonomy and experience in the publishing sector she is responsible for scouring the literature for interesting stories featuring the wild relatives of the foods we eat. Blogs, articles, species profiles and posters are used to engage public interest in the use of crop wild relatives to improve crops by passing on useful traits, such as, yield increase and disease resistance.

Communication emphasises Kew and the Millennium Seed Bank’s role in collecting these wild species and highlights those crop wild relatives, as well as geographical locations, which are a collection priority.
