Role: 

Processing and curation of seed bank collections.

Initial receipt and assessment of incoming seed bank collections, followed by the cleaning, x-raying, counting, banking and germination testing of the received collections. Regeneration and harvesting of relevant collections is carried out where necessary. Herbarium work including monitoring and collection of plant voucher material from the glasshouses which is pressed, dried and sent to Kew for identification. Research into seed dormancy issues and germination testing for a variety of collections is also undertaken.
