The plant family tree

Collecting and classifying plants is key to understanding the relationship between different species.

Kew has the largest and most diverse collection of plant specimens in the world, studying these specimens helps us to understand their evolution and predict which species might provide future medicines and foods.

In 'The Plant Family Tree' Professor Mark Chase, Senior Research Professor at Kew, explains how scientists are compiling the plant family tree.
