front cover of Kew Record of Taxonomic LiteratureKew Record of Taxonomic Literature

Editor: Ann McNeil

The Kew Record of Taxonomic Literature is a database of over 200,000 bibliographic references published since 1971 and relating to the taxonomy of flowering plants, gymnosperms, and ferns. Also included are references on phytogeography, nomenclature, chromosome surveys, chemotaxonomy, floras and botanical institutions, and papers of taxonomic interest in the fields of anatomy and morphology, palynology, embryology and reproductive biology along with relevant bibliographies and biographies. All relevant journal and book publications received are scanned at the libraries of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and the Natural History Museum, London.

Kew Record is available online, and is searchable via ePIC and is published in print on a quarterly basis by TSO. Entries are arranged by subject and there are author and genus indexes in each issue. Cumulated indexes are published in the final issue of every year. Most entries fall into systematic groups: those on pteridophyta and gymnospermae are arranged under classes subdivided by genera; the angiospermae entries are arranged by families in alphabetical order and are subdivided by genera. References of a more general nature appear under other subject headings.

Botanists, plant scientists, horticulturists, other researchers and academics, undergraduate and graduate students in related fields requiring access to specialist botanical literature will find this resource invaluable.
