Information volunteers

The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew has a small team of Information Volunteers who are currently based at the Information Desk in Victoria Plaza where they answer visitors' many and varied queries and process Friends' Memberships. We would now like to expand this programme and, in order to do so, are inviting more volunteers to join us.

We are looking for people who enjoy interacting with the general public, have an interest in the work of Kew and have home access to the internet and email. Induction training will take place every day during the week of January 21 to 25, 2008.

Information Volunteers will be part of the Guiding Programme at Kew. They will receive ongoing training, have internet and intranet access at the Desk and be kept updated on all new developments at Kew. This is a pilot project which, if successful, will become permanent.

For an application form, please email tours@kew.org or check the Kew website: http://www.kew.org/aboutus/volunteers/index.html
