70,000 children over four months have attended ‘Climbers and Creepers’ the new attraction at The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. The UK’s First Interactive Botanical Play Zone has proved so popular that its hours have been extended, and it will open extra late as part of Kew’s Christmas Festival. Comments from visitors so far include, “This is a wonderful place for children to learn about the environment around them. We would recommend it to everyone."

From 1 November: 10.30am until 3.45pm

Climbers and Creepers is an innovative indoor/outdoor place for children between the ages of 3 and 9 to explore with their parents, grandparents and carers. It offers a series of plant adventures that gently engage children’s interest in important botanical themes. 1,000 sq meters of play space, including a picnic and snack area, are under cover – so it makes a perfect winter playground for young children with a sense of adventure and lively curiosity. AirPlay, the outside high-activity play area, remains open all the time, and can be enjoyed on fair weather days.
