Chips with everything....

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Recycling your Christmas tree is the best way to dispose of it in without damaging the environment. And Kew's country garden, near Ardingly in West Sussex, will be operating a chipper in its car park on Sunday 8th January, 2006. Chippings can be used on the 500-acre estate or taken home for use in your own garden. They make an excellent weed suppressant.

"So many trees end up being dumped and are not only unsightly, but can cause damage by blocking water courses", says Wakehurst's Trevor Butler. "Taking your tree to a recycling centre is the best thing to do after removing the tinsel and other decorations."

Wakehurst Place is open from 10am and the chipper will operate until 3.30pm. Because it is in the car park, entry to the gardens and millennium seed bank exhibition is not required.
