The bud sheathes have started to fall away which is a good sign that flowering is imminent. However, due to the unpredictable nature of the flower it is still impossible to say for certain if it will be out before or during the Jubilee weekend.

The second titan arum at Kew in 2002 has flowered. The foul stench fills the air in the Princess of Wales Conservatory again, but as with the last flowering this smell is not expected to last too long!
