The third titan arum of 2002 failed to open fully and collapsed on 1 July

Watch it grow - third 2002 flowering (late June)

On Sunday 30 June our concerns were confirmed when the spadix collapsed without the flower having opened. It would appear that this final corm, the smallest of the three to flower in 2002, simply didn't have the energy reserves left for the flower to open.
