Orchids at Kew

Kew has the oldest known collection of living orchids and visitors to Kew Gardens can expect year round displays in two specialised orchid zones in the Princess of Wales Conservatory.

Wild areas of both Kew Gardens, and more particularly Wakehurst Place, are home to some significant populations of wild native orchids.

Orchids also feature prominently in botanical art, and in 2003 Kew staged an exhibition of the John Day Scrapbooks. This exhibition can still be seen online.
