1. Go to 'Pictures' on the website and choose 'Common name' under the 'Browse by' section. Select Rice in the list of plants.
2. Open a new Word document and give it the title 'Who ordered the picture'.
3. On the first page put the heading:
Rice pictures for scientists
Choose three pictures of rice plants which might have been ordered by scientists, copy them and paste them into your document.
4. Now put the heading:
Rice pictures for art collectors Choose three pictures of rice plants which might have been ordered by art collectors, copy them and paste them into your document.
5. Now put the heading:
Rice pictures for travel agents
Choose three pictures of rice plants which might have been ordered by travel agents, copy them and paste them into your document.
Make your own pictureNow make your own picture of a plant or fruit. First decide who it's going to be for. Choose from one of the buyers above, or make up your own - perhaps someone learning to read English, or someone who designs fabrics.
Think what they would want to see in the picture - it could be bright colour, or simple design, or accurate detail (with labels), or interesting shapes.
When you have finished, make a secret caption for your picture. On the top of the flap write 'This picture was for.' and under the flap write down who your buyer was and how you made the picture they would like. Ask your friends to guess who the picture was for and then look under the flap to see if they were right!
