Schools - KS 3 & 4 - Literacy

Plant Cultures offers opportunities for literacy mainly through reading but also through some of the audio versions of stories on the website. There are many types of language, including informal colloquial stories, information, abridged versions of classic Hindu sacred texts and scientific language, particularly in the 'Plant profiles'.

As literacy elements in Plant Cultures cross between different subject areas, links with the National Strategy Framework for teaching English (Yrs. 7-9) are shown below rather than English National Curriculum links.
