Kew's work in Madagascar
Succulent conservation
Projects supported by the Threatened Plants of Madagascar Appeal
are attempting to save six of the most threatened succulents of
Madagascar from the brink of extinction. Public support has helped
fund our work with the Antsokay Arboretum, which includes a botanic
garden and protected area of Spiny Forest in southern Madagascar.
The most urgent need is to train the staff of this relatively young
arboretum in propagation techniques and in the conservation management
of living plant collections.
