Kew's work in Madagascar
Palm Conservation
With your support through the Threatened Plant of Madagascar Appeal
we are working with our Malagasy colleagues to establish these three
flagship species in a new conservation collection of Malagasy palms
at the botanic garden at Tsimbazaza and the zoological garden at
Ivoloina. We will also explore methods of controlled seed harvesting
and nursery cultivation for possible future reintroductions into
national parks and other protected sites.
