Bog Garden

Opposite the Iris Dell is a recent Wakehurst Place feature, the Bog Garden. In fact, this is a restoration project as there was once an earlier bog garden in the area, but the necessary drainage had fallen into disrepair, leaving fairly derelict land. Now the drainage has been reinstated, a new pond has appeared, complete with walkways to allow its educational use as a dipping pond; and the much-improved soil all round has been planted with a wide variety of moisture loving plants.
