Dear Robert, a good starting place for you might be http://ispot.org.uk/
This is a site which Kew and other organisations support to offer identification help. We hope this is helpful to you.

I contacted this website because I may have discovered a new species of a particular plant and wanted to discuss it online, but none of the Kew sites provides that opportunity. The public ,because there are millions of us,are probably the best source of discovering new plant species and the present sites are no help whatsoever. Not all new plants are discovered by rugged explorers in far of climes up to their necks in mosquitoes and mud.How about giving the man in the street access to discussion with someone who can advise them.PLEASE CONTACT ME if you want to know what I have found.
