Science and Faith Unite on Biodiversity

The Policy Foresight Programme held a workshop chaired by Sir Crispin Tickell on 'Biodiversity: Science and Religion' in Oxford on 2 November.

Out of this workshop has come a statement, 'Science and Faith Unite on Biodiversity', which has been signed by many prominent members of both the religious and scientific communities. It brings together prominent scientists and religious leaders, people divided on many issues but united in their concern for the good health of the planet. Professor Stephen Hopper, Director of Kew, commented that this was a "valuable contribution" to the debate on the urgent need to protect and repair the natural environment and showed how diverse parts of the community can act in unison.
