The Beach at Kew

This year you can enjoy the sandy beach next to the Pavilion restaurant. This golden, summer highlight will be a wonderful area for the family to relax and children to play.

The beach shows how Mediterranean plants have adapted to life on the coast. It is planted with over thirty different plant species including palms, grasses and the Californian Poppy (Eschscholzia).

No eating on the beach for hygiene reasons. The beach is 300 sq m therefore we estimate it can accommodate up to 150 at any one time.

Q: What washes up on really small beaches?

A: Micro-waves!
