Description:

Algae (plural of alga) are usually microscopic plants. They don't have roots, shoots, leaves and flowers like normal plants, but they can photosynthesize. Algae can live everywhere there is water and sunlight. The 'green slime' in ponds is algae. There are also powdery algae that live on tree bark.
