Description:

A medium-sized shrub. The leaves have five or seven leaflets, and have a distinctive smell. The bark is corky. The clusters of white flowers are pollinated by insects, especially hoverflies. The fruits are clusters of dark red-black elderberries. The berries are eaten by birds who spread the seeds.
