Description: |
Males have a red-buff head, with a slate-blue crown and nape in breeding season, a buff-chestnut back, olive-green rump and pink-red cheeks, throat and chest. Female chaffinches are much duller in colour. Both males and females have two white wing bars that are best seen in flight. |
