There are many opportunities available at Kew for students to learn and experience the working world of botany and horticulture. Students are encouraged to get involved in the aspects of Kew that particularly interest them, with staff aiming to broaden and enhance the experience. Opportunities include traineeships, apprenticeships and internships.
Courses and training opportunities
Each year, the Library and Archives offers two twelve-month paid traineeships for graduates interested in careers in librarianship or in archives administration and records management. Kew has one of the world’s most important plant science libraries and archives.
Spend up to three months gaining practical work experience at one of the world's leading botanic gardens.
To provide practical work experience for undergraduates, Kew offers a series of sandwich student placements, either working in its science teams or as part of the Information Technology department.
Kew offers a number of horticultural work experience placements at Kew Gardens and Wakehurst.
